The study aimed to analyze the dynamics of Russians’ attitudes toward disease prevention and the prevalence of the most significant preventive behavior practices. The analysis is based on data from the Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS-HSE). The study revealed a noticeable increase in Russians’ responsible attitude toward disease prevention. However, despite this increase, the overall level of citizens’ preventive activity remains low. Positive, but often moderate, changes were noted in ensuring the coverage of Russians with preventive medical examinations and check-ups – one of the main areas and target indicators for the implementation of the national Healthcare project. The coverage of the population with vaccination against coronavirus and influenza was far from complete. The study showed that an important task, as before, is to increase Russians’ interest in information about a healthy lifestyle (HLS), which contributes to the growth of citizens’ general literacy in matters of maintaining health. But at the same time, a significant reduction, mainly due to young people, in the proportion of Russians who drink alcohol and are addicted to smoking, as well as a slow increase in the proportion of citizens engaged in physical exercise, was revealed. Most of the analyzed relationships between the basic indicators of social well-being (satisfaction with life in general, assessment of one’s material well-being, self-assessment of health) and the involvement of respondents in various preventive behavior practices reach the level of statistical significance.
