Traditional sphere of women till the XIX century was the home, so there is a lack of women's public sources, including speeches, political tracts, business documentation. But ladies left descendants letters and diaries, some of which are rich sources of information about contemporary society and the place of women in it. These include a diary of Elizabeth Drinker Sendvit. Records were kept for almost half a century, from 1758 till 1807.
