The problems of the articles are of interest due to their diversity and scientific significance of the plots in them. Studies reflect the realities of the domestic political and foreign life of the USA and Canada of the 18th-21st centuries. Various articles explore the American labor movement, literature, philosophy, education, historiography, women's history. It reflects such topics as the history of domestic and foreign policy, the party struggle and the activities of outstanding people, the influence of American experience on the policy of NEP, the Cold War and Russian America, cultural wars, the Oscar and the Shakespearean "trace" in America. Particular attention is paid to the bicentenary of Henry David Thoreau. A number of articles are based on archival materials. In the light of new approaches to the study of history, one should distinguish narrative, discursive approach, gender studies, polydisciplinarity, achievements of intellectual history.
