This monograph is devoted to the quantitative analysis of V.V. Nabokov’s poetry. The poet V. Sirin (Nabokov’s pen name as a poet) has been overshadowed by Nabokov the novelist, yet his poems deserve serious scholarly attention. The work examines various aspects of the author’s individual style: artistic imagery, part-of-speech structure, attributive patterns, and the distribution of syllabic types. The application of statistical measures and multivariate analysis helps assess the degree of its stability and variability, the internal dynamics of the text, and reveals latent trends within a large corpus of material.
The book is intended for specialists in philology, as well as a broader audience interested in the subject.
