HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Изучение речи детей с детским церебральным параличом как психолингвистическая проблема

Этнопсихолингвистика. 2024. Т. 2. № 17. С. 45–62.
Polyakova A. A.

The problem of perception and generation of speech by children is in the focus of present-day research. The novelty of the study lies in the consideration of these processes from the viewpoint of the influence on them of the pathology of the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system, namely, infantile cerebral palsy (CP). The review examines the results of research by foreign authors published in 2021– 2023. The studies were conducted in several English-speaking countries (Bangladesh, Sweden, the Netherlands, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Turkey), which helps provide understanding of the directions of research on speech limitations associated with the disease. The review also touches upon the topic of awareness of a child’s immediate environment about the peculiarities of speech processes in cerebral palsy

Осадчая М. А., Zubov V., Риехакайнен Е. И., Acta Linguistica Petropolitana. Труды института лингвистических исследований 2025 Т. 21 № 3 С. 135–158
This study investigates the role of hesitation pauses in spoken teacher discourse and their duration in the perception and short-term memorization of lexical items. While previous research has suggested that certain disfluencies, including hesitation pauses, can facilitate comprehension and memorization, the specific conditions under which this occurs remain unclear. To address this gap, an experimental ...

Эмоциональность слов в предложении и степень опоры на «поверхностную» обработку при понимании предложений
Шаповалова А. С., Pushnikov A. A., Malyutina S.,

А., Studia germanica, romanica et comparatistica 2025 Т. 21 № 3 (69) С. 69–80

Since language acquisition is a gradual process, younger children have gaps in their mental grammar and mental lexicon. In order to be understood well while communicating with other people, they sometimes resort to creating new words, known as innovations, which remain unusual for the language norm. This article expounds the nature of children’s speech innovations and presents the analysis ...

Reaction Time in Phonological Tests Predicts Reading Skills in Preschool Children
Eremicheva T., Dorofeeva S., , in: 12th Novi Sad workshop on Psycholinguistic, neurolinguistic and clinical linguistic research.: Novi Sad: Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, 2025.
Phonological processing (PP) skills are widely known as one of the most effective predictors of reading acquisition (Wagner et al., 1994). Children with poor PP skills are more likely to face reading difficulties. Thus, it is necessary to choose age-appropriate testing instruments that will indicate the possible impairments as early as possible. Former researchers mostly estimated the predictive power ...

The left pars triangularis lesions impair semantic interference resolution regardless of competitor modality
Zyryanov A., Buivolova O., Dragoy O. et al., Cerebral Cortex 2025 Vol. 35 No. 8 Article bhaf215
When we speak, selecting the right word takes longer whenever its semantic associates become active simultaneously. Although such semantic interference (SI) activates the left inferior frontal gyrus (LIFG), its lesions do not systematically increase SI induced by written word distractors. Therefore, whether the LIFG plays a causal role in resolving SI remains an open question. ...

Measuring the semantic priming effect across many languages
Buchanan E., Cuccolo K., Heyman T. et al., Nature Human Behaviour 2026 Vol. 10 No. 1 P. 182–201
Semantic priming has been studied for nearly 50 years across various experimental manipulations and theoretical frameworks. Although previous studies provide insight into the cognitive underpinnings of semantic representations, they have suffered from small sample sizes and a lack of linguistic and cultural diversity. In this Registered Report, we measured the size and the variability of ...

Gridneva E., Zdorova N., Ivanenko A. et al., Вестник Томского государственного университета. Филология 2025 № 94 С. 67–91
The most developed classifications of Russian idioms are based on the description of the degree of semantic unity of idiom components. Data on this parameter are insufficient for conducting psycholinguistic studies of idiom language processing. As a consequence, the current study aims to fill this gap. The purpose of this study was to create a Database of Russian Idioms ...
