This article explores the features of the naturalistic dualism, becoming increasingly popular in contemporary analytic philosophy of mind. The paper highlights the differences between the classical substance (Cartesian) dualism and property dualism. According this purpose, the article examines the key arguments in favor of the substantial and naturalistic interpretation of dualism and also undertakes a detailed analysis of the naturalistic dualism. The main goal of this paper is to find the conceptual background behind the originality of the naturalistic dualism, and give an assessment of the heuristic potential of this approach.
