Периодизация институционализации буддизма в России в XVIII–XX вв.
The article examines the process of institutionalization of Buddhism in Russia in the period from the 18th to the 20th century, with a special focus on its development in Eastern Siberia. The study covers the early contacts of the Russian Empire with the Buddhists of the Baikal region, the role of local and central authorities in recognizing Buddhism and regulating the Buddhist sangha, as well as the peculiarities of religious policy in the Soviet period and repression. The main goal of the work is to identify the key stages and factors that influenced the institutionalization of Buddhism, including interaction with the state authorities and the adaptation of the Buddhist clergy to the new conditions. Particular attention is paid to the institutional changes due to the activities of Buddhologists and representatives of Buddhism, which contributed to the strengthening of its position in the cultural space of Russia.
