The article focuses on the comparative analysis of two well-known fragments of Hebrew and Greek versions of the Book of Job, which are often perceived as the difference of views on personal eschatology. Christian exegesis sees Job as a forerunner of the belief in afterlife retribution and in resurrection of the dead. In contrast, many modern commentators think that a belief in the afterlife would make the drama of the Book senseless. The paper considers whether theology of resurrection can already be seen in the old Greek translation of the Book of Job, or it is a result of later interpretation.
