This article suggests a comparative analysis of the changes in Chinese and Russian civilizational identity under the influence of globalization and Westernization. The article presents the main features of the Chinese civilizational identity and compares the conditions of implementing and the results of free market reforms in Russia and China and their impact on economic growth and identity formation in both countries.
