The article analyzes the data on the degree of formation of the skills of creating and maintaining media channels among students of specialized and non-core areas of professional training. Based on the data of individual questionnaires (reference group - more than 130 people), it was concluded that the level of formation of professional journalistic competencies (media skills) is insufficient, regardless of the profile of training.
