Гендерный вопрос в южнокорейском школьном образовании
This essay gives an overview of major trends in gender equality practices in South Korean school education focusing on issues such as school curriculum, school activities, environment, and textbooks. This study examines what are the gender values and attitudes transmitting by schools in South Korea from the point of the critical theory approach. Critical perspective concerns not just explicit curriculum and textbook content (gender equality classes, gender equality issues in textbooks), but implicit issues such as teachers’ gender equality awareness, gender roles differentiation in school practices, textbook content (sexist language or images, story narrating , etc.).
