Еще раз о союзной функции тохарских слов A śla, ślak, B śle, śale, ślek

The aim of this article is to compare the use of the Tocharian preposition A śla/ B śle “with” and the words A ślak, B śale, śle etymologically related to it. In some works on Tocharian languages the forms B śle and śale have been treated as two accent variants of the same lexeme, which shows prepositional as well as conjunctional use (Hacktsein 1997, Kim 2014). It also has been argued that all the words A śla, ślak, B śale, śle, ślek can function as coordinating conjunctions for both the words and the sentences (Thomas 1979). According to the results of our research, the toch. B lexemes do differ in their use: B śle can coordinate only the nouns, while B śale coordinates predominantly the sentences. Only the conjunction ślek can join syntactical units of different level. In toch. A the available data can not be regarded as sufficient to conclude about the conjunctional use of А śla.
