Русский европеец как феномен противостояния Европе. (Пушкин)
The author uses the literary heritage of Alexander Pushkin to show the birth of the Russian Europeanism, describes how this notion was evolving in the Russian culture, how Pushkin raised the main themes of the European thought interpreted in the Russian way. The author stresses that the Russian defense of Europe from the steppe invaders, from the dictators (e.g., Napoleon) was rarely acclaimed by European thinkers. Pushkin introduced the notion of personal dignity to the Russian culture transforming Russians into Russian Europeans.
