The paper discusses the peculiarities of poetic onomastics in Pushkin's The Young Lady-Peasant. The researcher's perusal of Pushkin's story discovering the function of the personal names, correlation the semantic meaning thereof with the plot and combination of the theme and idea; highlighting of the cultural, historical and literature components of the names allow to regard Pushkin's text as the unity brought to the highest order; to display the richness of the relationships between the elements of poetics and to perceive the deep general, moral and common content of the story, to discover the everlasting esthetic vale and to determine the place of Pushkin's story in the context of cultural and historical development of Russian and foreign literature.
