«Новая российская цивилизация будет цивилизацией Пушкина» (к вопросу о «цивилизационном выборе»)
The article analyzes the problem of "civilizational choice" in relation to Russian history and sociopolitical aspects of modernity. In the format of a philosophical dialogue, the authors turn to the themes of a search for civilizational path and alternative civilizational possibilities; the relationship between the determinants of history and human free will within the historical process. In the context of the idea of "civilizational choice", the article analyzes a number of aspects of the discussion about the reforms of Peter the Great. In particular, it is argued that the era of the reforms was the "otherness" of the Orthodox civilization and demonstrated the triggering of the mechanisms of civilizational succession. The dichotomy of "east-west" attraction in relation to Russian civilization is criticized from the standpoint of an apology for "Russian northerness": the once popular concept of Russian identity, which is also productive in the context of modernity. The authors come to the conclusion that at the current stage of the historical development of Russian society, the Russian language may be the most effective connecting link - in this sense, the result of the revival of Russian civilization will be the “civilization of Pushkin”.
