Референсный дифференциальный метод оценки качества сжатия видео
The variety of video codecs and their parameters allows optimizing video compression for the specific ojectives of content delivery. Otherwise, evaluation of the results could be challenging. Present metrics evaluate quality in general but cannot locate compression errors and estimate them visually. The offered method allows comparing codecs and their parameters by calculating frame difference respectively and analyze the resulting picture. The article contains description and results of experimental comparison of H.264, HEVC (H.265) and VP9 codecs and the principle of mathematical evaluation of this graphical collation.
