The article examines the use of postcards as a source for local history and regional studies. Postcards, as multimodal sources, enable analysis of both illustrations and message texts, which provide diverse information. The texts, sometimes combined with visual elements, form the basis for analyzing everyday life in Vyborg. The study focuses on communication among Vyborg's residents and visitors in the early 20th century, utilizing materials from the Writing to You digital postcard corpus.
