Особенности эмоционального интеллекта у представителей российской и азербайджанской культур
The study aimed to test measurement invariance of the Russian-language EmIn questionnaire (by D. Lyusin) for emotional intelligence assessment in two samples, from Russia (n = 275) and Azerbaijan (n = 275). Exploratory factor analysis on pooled sample revealed a 4-factor structure with dimensions interpreted as understanding of one’s own emotions, management of one’s own emotions, understanding of others’ emotions, management of others’ emotions. Using confirmatory factor analysis, strong factorial invariance (equivalence of factor loadings and intercepts) was established, which allows to compare means scores in two cultures. Russians, compared to the Azerbaijani, report better understanding of one’s own emotions and management of one’s own emotions. Russian males report better management of their own emotions, compared to Russian females (in all age groups). Azerbaijani females report better understanding of others’ emotions, compared to Azerbaijani males (except for the senior age group). The results are interpreted based on existing knowledge of cross-cultural differences between Russian and Azerbaijan in cultural values, such as individualism and masculinity.

The application of «protective reservations» is a fundamental principle of modern codifications of the private international law. The post-graduate student of the Private International Law Department, Faculty of Laws, National Research University «The Higher School of Economics», the advocate E.A. Kruty (e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org) minutely analyses provisions about the reservation about the public policy and mandatory rules which are included in the international acts and ten national codifications of XXI centuries (Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Estonia, Mongolia, Russia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Macedonia, Turkey). Despite the apparent prevalence of the negative construction of the reservation about the public policy the lawmaker prefers in some situations its positive variant. An appeal to codifications allows to identify the certain conditions on which protective reservations take effect. Their most detailed description is contained in the Belgian and Bulgarian codes. Not less interesting is a regulation of the legal consequences coming as a result of application of these legal institutions for private legal relations with a foreign element including in the international civil procedure.
Today we could admit the growing demand for high educated experts, but modern technologies provide not only new learning opportunities, but also enormous amount Web-resources to plagiarize. In this paper we try to investigate role of intrinsic motivation on attitude towards plagiarism. Some results received during a project “A cross-cultural study of a new learning culture in Germany and in Russia” concerned intrinsic motivation of ITstudents and attitude to plagiarize are discussed. Analysis showed absence of significant differences in intrinsic motivation and significantly more tolerance of Russian students to plagiarism. We presented analysis of reasons for plagiarism and probable ways to solve with this problem in educational practice.
In this study a multi-level modeling approach is used to examine predictors of the subjective sense of freedom both at the individual level and at the country level, as well as the between-level interaction effects. It has been established that relationship between postmaterialist priorities and the subjective sense of freedom differ depending on the countries’ degree of economic development. In more affluent countries subjective freedom is positively associated with postmaterialist priorities, while in less affluent countries this association is negative.
This monograph is a first comprehensive and interdisciplinary study of personal conversions in Russian culture of the 19th century in a broad comparative perspective.
The book presents a collection of articles dedicated to the typological characteristics of the Russian culture in its historical development. Some articles deal with the specific Russian cultural concepts (such as "intelligentsia") other with interpretation of certain concepts (such as "Europe" or "monarchic power") in the specific Russian context. All the articles has a theoretical character with particular illustrations from Russian cultural texts. They are intended to demonstrate a general model which could be applied to other material. A large part of the book is devoted to the semiotic approach to icons. The same approach as a matter of principle can be applied to a different material and this is demonsrtated by all kinds of typological comparisons.
The article is devoted to the 80th anniversary of the prominent psychologist and educator - V. V. Davydov, who (together with D. B. Elkonin) has developed psychological base and pedagogical practices of the developing education. The main focus of the elaborated program was the development of theoretical thinking and the formation of readiness to thought and the ability for conceptual thought among school children. The article is an attempt to apply conceptualizations developed by V.V. Davydov to the analysis of thinking as such.The greatest attention is given to reflection and intuition.
The distractive effects on attentional task performance in different paradigms are analyzed in this paper. I demonstrate how distractors may negatively affect (interference effect), positively (redundancy effect) or neutrally (null effect). Distractor effects described in literature are classified in accordance with their hypothetical source. The general rule of the theory is also introduced. It contains the formal prediction of the particular distractor effect, based on entropy and redundancy measures from the mathematical theory of communication (Shannon, 1948). Single- vs dual-process frameworks are considered for hypothetical mechanisms which underpin the distractor effects. Distractor profiles (DPs) are also introduced for the formalization and simple visualization of experimental data concerning the distractor effects. Typical shapes of DPs and their interpretations are discussed with examples from three frequently cited experiments. Finally, the paper introduces hierarchical hypothesis that states the level-fashion modulating interrelations between distractor effects of different classes.
This article describes the expierence of studying factors influencing the social well-being of educational migrants as mesured by means of a psychological well-being scale (A. Perrudet-Badoux, G.A. Mendelsohn, J.Chiche, 1988) previously adapted for Russian by M.V. Sokolova. A statistical analysis of the scale's reliability is performed. Trends in dynamics of subjective well-being are indentified on the basis the correlations analysis between the condbtbions of adaptation and its success rate, and potential mechanisms for developing subjective well-being among student migrants living in student hostels are described. Particular attention is paid to commuting as a factor of adaptation.
This article is talking about state management and cultural policy, their nature and content in term of the new tendency - development of postindustrial society. It mentioned here, that at the moment cultural policy is the base of regional political activity and that regions can get strong competitive advantage if they are able to implement cultural policy successfully. All these trends can produce elements of new economic development.
