The article is based on the rough papers of the S. Makovsky’s essays about N. Gumilev. Article investigates strategies of the author’s interaction with the public sphere of Russian emigration and the ways of representation of the Gumilev’s image. Numerous edits and frequent absence of references to sources shows, that the author perceived the memoirs of his predecessors as a common cultural memory, the statement of which served as his memoirs.
