In the modern world, loneliness is becoming a common phenomenon. According to statistics, increasingly younger segments of the population are experiencing feelings of loneliness, and the consequences of this situation remain to be seen.
The author sets himself the task of analyzing the phenomenon of loneliness in modern conditions and studying ways for teenagers to cope with this feeling. The sample of the empirical study consists of 74 respondents aged 14-15 years. Methods used: “Subjective Feeling of Loneliness Scale” (UCLA Loneliness Scale),
“Life Style Index” (LSI), questionnaire “Strategies for Coping with Stressful Situations” (SACS), MLO “Adaptability”. The results of hierarchical regression analysis show how maladaptive coping strategies exacerbate adolescents' feelings of loneliness.
