A great number of economists all around the world research theories of life cycle models. PMBOK and literature on project management have lack of information about the influence of project management on the management of the whole company at different life cycle stages. During 1990-s project management instruments in Russian companies were not used almost at all, but in 2003–2007 these instruments were in high demand. What were the reasons of these changes? The answer to this question is based on information about differences between goals of companies at various life cycle stages.
Measuring and managing the performance of a business is one of the main requirements of the management of any organization. This book introduces new contexts and themes of application and presents emerging research areas related to business performance measurement and management. It draws authors from all around the globe from a variety of functional disciplines, all of whom are working in the field of business performance measurement and management, thus resulting in a variety of perspectives on performance measurement from various functional areas – accounting, finance, economics, marketing, and operations management – in a single volume.
A service-oriented architecture of dynamic intelligent systems for managing business processes based on multi-agent technology is presented in this article. The service-oriented architecture allows to apply flexible configuration of services of interacting agents of the business process. In particular, new principles and methods of organizing services, flexible access to them and their coordination in the dynamic process are proposed.
The design features of dynamic intelligent systems for managing business processes based on multi-agent technology and service-oriented architecture are presented in this article. The mechanisms of interaction of the agents that implement the functions of business process management, and services that implement business functions are considered. In particular, ontology-based communication methods are proposed and described.
Cloud-based technologies proliferated in the past few years, while the manufacturing industry moved towards digitization and network. Therefore, cloud-based technologies have been adopted in the development of new generation manufacturing systems which orchestrate different activities, including product design, process and task planning, production, customer service, etc. These new cloud-ingrained technologies have the potential to change the collaboration of product development partners, the processing and sharing of information as well as utilization rates of critical equipment. Cloud-based technologies affect many aspects of manufacturing activities, and they therefore have the power to enable new or change existing business models of the manufacturing industry. Based on the literature review, this paper analyzes the latest requirements, challenges, and trends of the manufacturing industry. It structures the findings in the coherent manner and further hypothesizes how cloud computing may address identified requirements and challenges as well as realize or support new concepts in manufacturing.
