Восприятие болезни в Древней Руси XI-XIII вв. и Византии (на материале древнерусских летописей и двух переводных византийских хроник)
The paper examines the specific features of perception of the somatic illness, discovered in Old Russian chronicles (11-13 cc.) and in Old Slavonic translations of the Byzantine chronicles (6 and 9-10 cc.). There are some notable differences in perception of the illness in Byzantium and Old Rus, which are possible to identify by comparison of the sources. Byzantine chronicles tend to portray the illness negatively, while Old Russian chronicles depict it mostly positively. These differences lead to some conclusions on the actual impact of the Byzantine chronicles on the Old Russian chronicler’s world view.
