Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

2021. Т. 63. С. 91–116.
Tsvetkova A.

The paper examines technical efficiency of Russian firms during the period from 2013 to 2018 applying the stochastic production frontier method. The estimates obtained indicate that technical efficiency grows with firm size and declines with its age. While macroeconomic situation deteriorated in 2015–2016, technical efficiency in most industries changed insignificantly. However, the number of industries with a negative trend in technical efficiency is higher than the number of industries with a positive trend. The contribution of industries with declining technical efficiency to the total employment and output are higher than those of industries with growing technical efficiency or insignificantly
changing technical efficiency.

Makarov I. A., Россия в глобальной политике 2026 Т. 24 № 4 (140) С. 164–182

А., Sizova I., Gordin V. E., Креативные индустрии 2026 Т. 2 № 2 С. 10–31
This article examines the musealisation of industrial heritage and its role in regional and corporate branding. The relevance of this study stems from deindustrialisation processes, the growth of industrial tourism, and the need to preserve historical memory, which is particularly important in the context of Russian realities—the lack of a legal definition of the concept ...

2026 Vol. 17 No. 4 P. 66–78

When green is not attractive: energy transition, capital inflows, and environmental outcomes in BRICS economies
Kilinc-Ata N., Warong M. M., SN Business & Economics 2026 Vol. 6 Article 326(2026)
Green transitions are widely expected to attract cleaner capital and accelerate decarbonization; however, emerging-economy evidence increasingly challenges this assumption. This study examines the dynamic relationship between energy transition indicators and capital inflows in BRICS+ economies over the period 1996–2022, explicitly testing the “Green Haven” hypothesis under conditions of global uncertainty. Unlike much of the existing ...

Macroeconomic determinants of the green transition: a regime-switching analysis of Indonesian clean energy start-ups
Warong M. M., International Journal of Diplomacy and Economy 2026
This study conducted in Indonesia between 2000 and 2023, demonstrates a complex, non-linear interplay between the economic environment and the emergence of clean energy start-ups. Using Autoregressive Distributed Lag and Markov Switching models, the research shows that start-up formation coincides with periods of lower GDP growth, suggesting that innovation is often spurred by necessity. Two ...

Widening the productivity gap in the Russian economy in 2009–2015: Stochastic frontier analysis using firm-level data
Bessonova E., Russian Journal of Economics 2026 Vol. 12 No. 2 P. 153–175
This paper analyzes total factor productivity (TFP) in Russia over 2009–2015 using firm-level data. Stochastic frontier analysis is employed to simultaneously estimate TFP growth and the distance to the production-possibility frontier for each firm in the sample. The results suggest significant positive rates of technological progress; however, the gap between technological frontier firms and laggards widened over ...

In the context of an unstable economic situation in Russia, it becomes pertinent to identify the factors of the output of an enterprise. It is crucial to acknowledge that the estimation of the parameters of the production function (i.e. return on factors of production) for Russian enterprises depends on its region. The object of research ...

It is formally proven that if inefficiency (u) is modelled through its variance, considered as a function of exogenous variables z, then the marginal effects of z on technical inefficiency (TI) and technical efficiency (TE) have opposite signs in the typical setup with a normally distributed random error and an exponentially or half-normally distributed u. ...

We consider a problem of estimating the rank correlations between inefficiency indices of decision making units and their JLMS estimators in a stochastic frontier model with exponentially distributed inefficiency. We derive expressions for asymptotic values of Kendall and Somers rank correlation coefficients and of Harrell’s C-index and provide an example of applying the obtained results ...

A technique for assessing the concordance between true inefficiency of decision making units in a basic stochastic frontier model and their JLMS estimates is proposed. An approximate formula for Harrell’s C-index is derived for the case of half-normal distribution of inefficiency component. A simulation study shows that the approximation error is about 0.01 and that ...
