ЯЗЫК «ВТОРОГО РОЖДЕНИЯ» БОРИСА ПАСТЕРНАКА: ИДИОМАТИКА, СЕМАНТИКА, ВИЗУАЛЬНОСТЬ
The article focuses upon the role of idioms in Boris Pasternak's collection «Second Birth» (1932) that has not yet been analyzed. The idiomatic plan of the Russian language with its assigned connotations used to serve for Pasternak as material for sophisticated metaphors, and simultaneously to transmit conventional and easily recognizable meanings. Thus, idioms provide an opportunity to clearly explain how the balance of simplicity and complexity is arranged in the book of the poet’s transitional period. First, we discuss the main types of Pasternak's work with idioms (the first section); then, using a number of striking examples, we analyze the intertwining of various phraseological modifications in the context of stanzas (the second section). Since in these analyzes, a close attention is paid to the relationship between the semantic and visual aspects, in the third section we discuss the problem of the visuality of Pasternak's poetry theoretically. In this way, idioms turn out to be not only an essential plan of Pasternak's poetic language, but also an area that opens up a new frontier of research.
