ДИАХРОНИЧЕСКИЕ ОСОБЕННОСТИ АКТУАЛИЗАЦИИ ЛИНГВОКУЛЬТУРНОГО КОНЦЕПТА «БОРЬБА» (НА МАТЕРИАЛЕ АМЕРИКАНСКОГО ПОЛИТИЧЕСКОГО ДИСКУРСА XIX - XXI ВЕКОВ)

The study provides a diachronic analysis of the concept “STRUGGLE” drawing on the example of the political discourse of the United States of the XIXth - XXIst centuries (from the Civil War to protests in 2020). The choice of such a goal is conditioned by the fact that due to the growth of globalization in the modern world, it has become important to study the national pictures of the world of representatives of different peoples in order to determine their characteristics. The linguacultural approach to the analysis of concepts, which involves the analysis at different linguistic levels, is the main methodological principle of the research. The definitional analysis of the words-verbalizers of the concept “STRUGGLE” in the American discourse, as well as the lingua-stylistic analysis, allow the author to identify the features of the interpretation and implementation of this concept, which in turn makes it possible to interpret the author’s choice of the method of representation of the concept under study in a specific political situation. As a result of the research, the dependence of the transmission of a certain attitude to the struggle on the choice of representative words in the samples of the US political discourse of past centuries and modern times is demonstrated.
