Corrigendum to "femtosecond plasmon interferometer" [Opt. Commun. (2017) 382 509–513]

We haverealized a plasmonic interferometer formed by a nanoslit and a nanogroove in a single-crystal gold film. The possibility of measuring laser pulses of ultimately short durations, corresponding to two periods of a light wave (6fs pulse duration), has been demonstrated using this interferometer.

We demonstrate effective, up to 30%, reflection of the surface plasmon-polariton wave (SPP) from a nanogroove made on Ag film surface. The use of SPP reflection from a nanogroove having a shape of parabola helps to realize a new element in nanoplasmonics—parabolic SPP mirror. It was found that the mirror allows focusing of the SPP ...

To explain recently observed up to 50-fold enhancement of the second harmonic (SH) signal from gold nanoparticles after depositing of a thin dielectric layer, we perform an analytical study of the SH generation by metal core-dielectric shell spherical nanoparticles (NPs). We derive analytical expressions for the SH intensity accounting for electric dipole and quadrupole impacts. ...

We propose a method of measuring low concentrations of fluorescent molecules located in a small volume of a liquid solvent (about 5 μl) based on the Ebbesen effect of the extraordinary transmission (EOT) of light through a state-of-the-art plasmonic crystal formed by a nanohole array perforated in the ultra-high-quality Ag film. In the method, the EOT ...

Landau damping in the metal nanosphere is considered beyond the quasi-static approximation with the use of exact Mie theory when an incident plane wave can excite not only the dipole mode but also higher order modes. In resonance approximation, when one considers excitation of a single-mode, the analytical formula for the Landau damping coefficient for ...

We study second-harmonic generation from gold nanoislands covered with amorphous titanium oxide

Isotropy parameters of truly linear (LT ) and truly circular (CT ) polarization singularities in a threedimensional monochromatic electromagnetic field are defined. It is demonstrated that these parameters characterize the distribution of polarization ellipses near the singular points in a more detailed way than a topological index. A numerical algorithm which tracks CT and LT ...

We have proposed, implemented and investigated a novel, efficient quantum emitter based on an atomic-sized Ag nanocluster in a plasmonic resonator. The quantum emitter enables the realization of: (1) ultra-bright fluorescence, (2) narrow-band emission down to 4 nm, (3) ultra-short fluorescence lifetime. The fluorescence cross-section of a quantum emitter is on the order of σ ∼ 10−14 cm2, ...

Surface plasmon polaritons are commonly believed to be a future basis for the next generation of optoelectronic and all-optical devices. As of today, in the visible ...

Due to losses in metals, the propagation length of the surface plasmon-polariton (SPP) waves on metal surfaces is
