We propose and realize a single-mode surface plasmon polariton (SPP) waveguide formed by two parallel grooves on the surface of a high-quality silver film. In the waveguide the SPP wave undergoes Goos–Hänchen shift of up to 0.77 of the SPP wavelength at each successive reflection, with the electric field of the SPP wave outside the metal, which significantly reduces the metal loss of the guided SPP wave. Using the waveguide, we demonstrate a complex on-chip optical circuit that includes (1) SPP plane wave excitation, (2) SPP plane wave focusing with a parabolic mirror, (3) coupling of the focused SPP wave to the waveguide.

In this work, we combine experimental characterization and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to elucidate the molecular mechanisms governing the impregnation of mefenamic acid (MFA) into nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) aerogels. NCC aerogels were impregnated with MFA in scCO2, and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption revealed a concentration-dependent decrease in surface area, pore volume, and pore size, with an ...

Using self-consistent Bogoliubov-de Gennes calculations for kagome flakes framed by armchair

by up to 77.8% at edge centers and up to 148.9% at corners, subsequently boosting their

We investigate the effect of weak interband impurity scattering on the intertype (IT) domain between type-I and type-II superconductivity in diffusive two-band superconductors. Our results show that the significant broadening of the IT domain with increasing band diffusivity ratio, previously established in the absence of interband scattering, persists under weak interband scattering. However, depending on ...

The GaAs/InGaAs quantum wells with a ferromagnetic δ〈Mn〉 layer in GaAs barrier demonstrate a set of interesting spin-related phenomena originating from Mn-hole interaction. One of such phenomena is a spin-memory effect which consists of Mn spin polarization induced by interaction with vicinity spin-polarized holes generated under the exposure by short circularly polarized light pulses. Here long Mn ...

Plasmonic nanostructures typically exhibit shifts in their resonant wavelength in response to changes in the refractive index of the surrounding medium. This limits their applications in scenarios requiring stable optical resonances. Here we present a metallic-dielectric hybrid metasurface that exhibits stable multi-wavelength resonance even if the refractive index of its surrounding varies. To quantitatively evaluate the stability of ...
