This article sets general principles of the realization of such format of participation in the research culture as an offcite research school. The general topos construct as a semantic model of organization of the content of the directions of research that are attached to common place is illustrated. The experience of the organization and conduction of the First offcite research school “Topos Shahmatovo” (Kostroma Oblast, Antropovo district, summer 2019) is described. The prospects for the development of this model in relation to the Shakhmatov space are determined.
