HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Советские граждане в Западной Белоруссии, 1939-1941 гг.

Вопросы истории. 2018. № 6. С. 48–56.
Karpenkina Y.

The article addresses the practice of sending of soviet clerks (so called “vostochniki”) to the Western Belorussia after annexation of that lands by the USSR in the autumn,1939. The paper was based on a large number of the soviet documents. The article deals with the characteristic of the “vostochninkis`” social position in the Western Belorussia in 1939-1941: they approximate total number and national structure, qualification, their social position in the Western Belorussian society and the relationship with the local population. The author concludes: although according to the government's plan, the sent Soviet clerks were expected to become the main implementers of the Sovietization policy in the annexed territory, their effort in this sphere turned out to be ineffective because of their desire of self-enrichment and leading an indecent life-style.
