Информационные волны в социальных сетях: проблематизация, определение, механизмы распространения
The article is devoted to the consideration of the new analytical research concept of information space of social networks – "information waves". The duality of the nature of information waves is emphasized. On the one hand, it is the flow of information units connecting actors, communities, publics, etc. On the other hand, in the basis of such information flows are the social regularities that are often based on the projective manipulative processes counting mass response or managing interactions of actors. Such approach requires special determination of the researched process (information waves) and also intrinsic reviewing of its mechanisms. In the article application-oriented research results of information waves in social networks are given.
This volume contains the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Analysis of Images, Social Networks, and Texts (AIST 2017)1. The previous conferences during 2012–2016 attracted a significant number of students, researchers, academics, and engineers working on interdisciplinary data analysis of images, texts, and social networks. The broad scope of AIST made it an event where researchers from different domains, such as image and text processing, exploiting various data analysis techniques, can meet and exchange ideas. We strongly believe that this may lead to cross fertilisation of ideas between researchers relying on modern data analysis machinery. Therefore, AIST brought together all kinds of applications of data mining and machine learning techniques. The conference allowed specialists from different fields to meet each other, present their work, and discuss both theoretical and practical aspects of their data analysis problems. Another important aim of the conference was to stimulate scientists and people from industry to benefit from the knowledge exchange and identify possible grounds for fruitful collaboration. The conference was held during July 27–29, 2017. The conference was organised in Moscow, the capital of Russia, on the campus of Moscow Polytechnic University. This year, the key topics of AIST were grouped into six tracks: 1. General topics of data analysis chaired by Sergei Kuznetsov (Higher School of Economics, Russia) and Amedeo Napoli (LORIA, France) 2. Natural language processing chaired by Natalia Loukachevitch (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia) and Alexander Panchenko (University of Hamburg, Germany) 3. Social network analysis chaired by Stanley Wasserman (Indiana University, USA) 4. Analysis of images and video chaired by Victor Lempitsky (Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Russia) and Andrey Savchenko (Higher School of Economics, Russia) 5. Optimisation problems on graphs and network structures chaired by Panos Pardalos (University of Florida, USA) and Michael Khachay (IMM UB RAS and Ural Federal University, Russia) 6. Analysis of dynamic behaviour through event data chaired by Wil van der Aalst (Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands) and Irina Lomazova (Higher School of Economics, Russia) One of the novelties this year was the introduction of a new specialised track on process mining (Track 6).
The problems of analysis and prediction in social networks are interpreted for the domain of marketing (other applications are also possible). Algorithms of determination of the strong subgroups and satellites for a network are implemented using the programming language R and tested on model examples. An original algorithm of calculation of the final opinions is proposed, implemented in R and also tested on the model examples. The main idea is that all control efforts in marketing (and other problem domains) should be directed only to the members of strong subgroups because they and only they determine the final opinions of all members of the network. Based on this idea, two problems of the opinions control on networks are studied. First, a static game in normal form where the players maximize the final opinions of all members of a target audience by means of the marketing impact to the initial opinions of some members of the strong subgroups. Second, a dynamic (difference) game in normal form where the players solve the problem of maximization of the sum of opinions of the members of a target audience by means of the closed-loop strategies of impact to the current opinions of the members of strong subgroups. In both cases we received the analytical solutions and conducted their comparative analysis. More complicated versions of the models are studied numerically on the base of the method of qualitatively representative scenarios in computer simulation.
The purpose of this paper is to encourage discussions regarding the existing approaches to globalization measurement (taking mainly the form of indices and rankings) and their shortcomings in terms of applicability to developing Global Studies curricula. Another aim is to propose an outline for the globalization measurement methodology that would take a systemic approach to revealing the global flows (both their direction and content) and networks, which will allow the multidimensionality in globalization measurement crucial for proposing and verifying formal explanations and hypotheses, as well as for developing globalization forecasts.
The article investigates the problem of ethics in the media. On the one hand, social networking affects business ethics and employees behavior at work. On the other hand, the idea of ethic finds its reflection in the layout of most web-site, created for different purposes, even during elections. Much attention is given in the United States, where ethics has become one of the most significant priorities.
Recently, there has been an increasing number of empirical evidence supporting the hypothesis that spread of avalanches of microposts on social networks, such as Twitter, is associated with some sociopolitical events. Typical examples of such events are political elections and protest movements. Inspired by this phenomenon, we built a phenomenological model that describes Twitter’s self-organization in a critical state. An external manifestation of this condition is the spread of avalanches of microposts on the network. e model is based on a fractional three-parameter self-organization scheme with stochastic sources. It is shown that the adiabatic mode of self-organization in a critical state is determined by the intensive coordinated action of a relatively small number of network users. To identify the critical states of the network and to verify the model, we have proposed a spectrum of three scaling indicators of the observed time series of microposts.
In this paper we study formal indicators of connectivity for a city community of researchers in Informatics and Cybernetics. The analysis is based on data available at the Scientific Electronic Library portal http://eLibrary.ru. Starting from the co-authorship relation we construct connectivity graph for research institutions for all major Russian cities and suggest using size of the 2-core component to measure the connectivity of the local communities
Several approaches to the concept of fatherhood present in Western sociological tradition are analyzed and compared: biological determinism, social constructivism and biosocial theory. The problematics of fatherhood and men’s parental practices is marginalized in modern Russian social research devoted to family and this fact makes the traditional inequality in family relations, when the father’s role is considered secondary compared to that of mother, even stronger. However, in Western critical men’s studies several stages can be outlined: the development of “sex roles” paradigm (biological determinism), the emergence of the hegemonic masculinity concept, inter-disciplinary stage (biosocial theory). According to the approach of biological determinism, the role of a father is that of the patriarch, he continues the family line and serves as a model for his ascendants. Social constructivism looks into man’s functions in the family from the point of view of masculine pressure and establishing hegemony over a woman and children. Biosocial theory aims to unite the biological determinacy of fatherhood with social, cultural and personal context. It is shown that these approaches are directly connected with the level of the society development, marriage and family perceptions, the level of egality of gender order.
