Индивидуализм и коллективизм как значимые элементы лингвокультуры
Different variants of culture classification are analysed alongside with the place of “individualism/collectivism” parameter in these classifications. Special significance of this parameter is underpinned for research in language and culture studies in particular and for a certain culture development in general. Careful attention is attributed to culture classifications put forward by G. Hofstede, E. Hall, and F. R. Kluckhohn F. R and F. L. Strodtbeck. The notion “linguoculture” is defined. It is understood as an aggregate of knowledge available in culture-mediated codes of language. It is accentuated that in the era of globalization collectivistic cultures have a competitive advantage. The individualistic character of modern Russian culture is postulated on the basis of different kinds of research.
