The paper attempts to reveal and to investigate the concept of fiction literature reading in philosophical hermeneutics of H.-G. Gadamer. It is demonstrated, that the notion of literature relates to the most important principles of philosophical hermeneutics in the context of its ambiguous but also multifunctional meaning development. The point is that fictional (poetic) is considered by Gadamer as an important component of the metaphorical universalization of reading understood as a model of understanding. Becoming paradigmatic the experience of reading fiction plays a significant role not only in the way of theory, but also in a sense of metaphilosophical orientation, i.e. as the impact on self-understanding and implementation of philosophical hermeneutics.
