HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? Fine structure of cyclotron resonance in a two-dimensional electron system

It is established that cyclotron resonance (CR) in a high-quality GaAs/AlGaAs two-dimensional electron system (2DES) originates as a pure resonance that does not hybridize with dimensional magnetoplasma excitations. The magnetoplasma resonances form a fine structure of the CR. The observed fine structure of the CR results from the interplay between coherent radiative and incoherent collisional mechanisms of two-dimensional plasma relaxation. We show that the range of 2DES filling factors from which the phenomenon arises is intimately connected to the fundamental fine-structure constant.
