Abstract:
The article deals with the development of interpreter’s thesaurus competence for situations of professional communication based on discourse-pragmatic and interdisciplinary approaches. The specificity of thesaurus competence formation for specialists and translators is described. The strategies of terms translation during consecutive interpretation of a training seminar in the field of emergency medicine are presented – the dominant ones are equivalent term selection, preservation of an international term, and descriptive translation. The skills related to consecutive interpretation of the specialist areas terminology are specified. The thesaurus competence formation within different subjects: lexicology, written translation and consecutive interpretation from the first and second foreign languages for training bachelors in linguistics is described. The skills related to the consecutive interpretation of specialist terminology are specified and the sequence of exercises based on static and dynamic visualization is provided.
