Создание "образа врага" как политический инструмент: экономический анализ
The article presents a model of a politicial use of xenophobic slogans to divert public attention from economic shocks. "Outside enemy" turns out to be quite "comfortable" in this sense for a politician, because it can boost self-esteem of the masses. This is very important during economic declines because, unlike internal enemies, it does not provoke civil riots. Nevertheless, the use of xenophobic slogans enlightens aggression, which affects negatively the production activities. Possible scenarios are presented in the form of simulations of the theoretical model.
