This book explores the application of field theory (patterns of interaction) to Russian economic history, and how social and political fields mediate the influences of institutions, structures, discourses and ideologies in the creation and dissemination of economic thinking, theory and practice. Using focused cases on Russia's economy from the mid-nineteenth century to the present, Hass and co-authors expand the empirical basis of field studies to provide new material on Russian economic history. The cases are divided into two complementary halves: i) The role of fields of institutions, discourses, and structures in the development of Russian economic thought, especially economic theories and discourses; and ii) The role of fields in the real adoption and implementation of policies in Soviet and Russian economic history.
With developed discussion of fields and field theory, this book moves beyond sociology to demonstrate to other disciplines the relation of fields and field theory to other frameworks and methodological considerations for field analysis, as well as providing new empirical insights and narratives not as well-known abroad.
The question of the predicate nature in the judgment from the logical-linguistic viewpoint has been dealt with in the investigations of many linguists. Although a number of issues have been analyzed and discussed much, there is no common consideration and no accurate classification of predicate types yet.
This paper is an attempt to establish predicate nature and predicate classification and its role in the modus structure of the sentence. To understand the predicate nature better it should be considered a compound sentence, which manifests itself in its division into modus and dictum. This results in a new prospect of reconsideration of the cognitive, semantic, and syntactic aspects of the compound sentence.

The functional description of inaugural addresses made by Sheygal E.I. serves as a basis of the description in question. The comparative analysis of two genres – the inaugural address and the victory speech – is carried out. It has turned out that both genres are similar in the following functions: integrative, inspirative and performative. In addition, the list of the shared functions can be extended by an interdiscursive function, which consists in implicit and explicit referring to predecessors’ discourses and in appealing to common knowledge shared by the author and the audience.
Nevertheless, a number of differences between two genres in question can be seen. For example, following the Sheygal’s ideas, inaugural addresses also fulfill a declarative function as they contain a considerable amount of didactic information. In contrast, victory speeches are characterized by a more significant degree of expressivity, which gives decisive influence on stylistic characteristic of words. That is why one can single out the expressive function of victory speeches.
The overview on the functions of victory speeches and inaugural addresses is supported by examples taken from Barack Obama’s discourse.
Abstract. This article describes a mathematical model designed to predict the box office of movies. The model is based on a neural network trained on data about films obtained from open sources. Computer experiments were performed by the method of “freezing”: with the help of a neural network calculations were performed with a gradual change in the value of one of the input parameters of the model, while the remaining input parameters were not changed. It is established that the size of the film budget has the greatest impact on the amount of box office among all other input parameters. However, its impact is not always positive. It is established that the United States, as a country that takes part in the production of the film, is able to have the greatest impact on box office compared to other countries. According to the research the duration of the film to varying degrees can affect the amount of box office. Moreover, the power of influence depends on such a factor as the genre of the film. As a rule, the power of this influence increases with the increasing semantic load of the film. The practical value of the study is that the created mathematical model can be used to optimize costs when planning the production of new films.
