In the paper are analyzed the role of foreign language in the modern specialist’s professional formation, faults in the existent practice of foreign languages teaching in nonlinguistic higher education establishments, some problems of using of technology of adult learning in the foreign language learning process in higher education. The author analyses andragogical model’s of learning particularities, specificities of teacher-andragogue’s activities and functions applicable to the foreign language teacher in higher education, his/her personal and professional characteristics, evaluation parameters of his/her professional competences.
