Междисциплинарность современной науки как философская проблема. Стиль мышления Владимира Петровича Зинченко (материалы «круглого стола»)
On April 25, 2026, the journal “Voprosy Filosofii” hosted a “round table” titled “The Interdisciplinarity of Contemporary Science as a Philosophical Problem. The Style of Thinking of Vladimir Petrovich Zinchenko”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of this legendary Russian psychologist and philosopher. The discussion brought together epistemologist philosophers, specialists in neuroscience and the methodology of science, psychologists, historians of philosophy, and psychotherapists. What unites them is not only a shared research interest in the problems of interdisciplinarity in scientific knowledge, but also years of personal acquaintance with Vladimir Petrovich, whose epistemological style stands today as a model of “thinking at the boundaries”. At the center of the discussion were the problems of experimental psychology, ergonomics, engineering psychology, and cultural-historical (organic) psychology, that is, those fields of knowledge in which the contribution of V.P. Zinchenko can hardly be overstated. Despite the fundamental differences in the participants’ research positions and scholarly vocabularies, they were united in the view that the principled interdisciplinarity of contemporary scientific knowledge does not arise and expand on its own, but
rather emerges through an awareness of the boundaries of disciplines, of reality, and of subjectivity. Interdisciplinarity presupposes as its foundation a grounding in values and historical continuity, within which a conversation with “Deserved Interlocutors” takes place, “mixed lines of evolution” and an “opponent circle” are identified, penetration into “the otherness of the human within the human” occurs, and “reflected subjectivity” is understood. All of this constitutes the essence of V.P. Zinchenko’s “poetic anthropology”, which the participants of the round table considered a kind of preservation of culture and humanity in the environment of artificial intelligence.
