The text is devoted to the problem of truth in the late philosophy of Martin Heidegger. The in inquiry based on Heidegger's Plato's Doctrine of Truth. In this paper of his the German philosopher reflected on the "Allegory of the Cave" and through it expressed his understanding of the development concepts of truth and its multifaceted content. The concept of truth as uncoveredness (άλήθεια) is presented as the most significant for Heidegger's philosophy. He believed that in Platonic thought truth as uncoveredness was swapped in for truth as correctness, which determined the path that the European thought has subsequently taken.
