Russia's resilience to the sanctions tsunami of 2022–2023 and the limited nature of Moscow's countermeasures against violent sabotage have led to the emergence of a new model of pressure. Western countries have begun to view sanctions as a starting point for other punitive measures. Recent events surrounding Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran demonstrate that the series of economic measures has become a "black mark" and a preparatory phase, heralding the inevitable military pressure.
