The article considers the problem of preparing young people for future parenthood.Readiness for parenthood is considered as a complex phenomenon consisting of the following components : cognitive- reflective , personal , emotional and regulative.To speak of a sufficient level of readiness for parenthood, all these components must be optimally formed. The purpose of this published study is to test the hypothesis that the implementation of the model and program of psychological support of the development of psychological readiness for parenthood in the minds of female students can enhance the level of their existing internal readiness for future parenthood .The study involved 52 students , 21-22 years , 25 of women were in the experimental group , 27 –in the control group. For the diagnosis of the level of psychological readiness for parenthood were used well-known methods as well asthe author's method "Family social roles" by Vasilyeva E.N., Orlov A.V. (A variant of " My future parental roles ").An analysis of the data of the ascertaining cutoff found that girls aged 21-22 years old have an average level of psychological readiness for parenthood in all its components : cognitive- reflective , personal , emotional and regulative. Girls in the experimental group were trained using the training program "Effective Parenting " and showed a significant increase of the level of psychological readiness for future parenthood , compared with the control group . The materials of the research can be used by specialists in the field of family psychology , in particular, dealing with the study of parenting as a phenomenon , as well as preparing young people to conscious parenting.
