Об учебном двуязычии в аспекте лингвоконтактологии и методики преподавания
The author challenges the idea that arose in the 1950s, according to which two types of bilingualism (compound bilingualism vs. coordinate bilingualism) are to be distinguished depending on how language systems co-exist in a speaker’s mind. As few is known to the present day about real cognitive mechanisms of language systems storage, author puts forward another classification basis - one depending on conditions of second-language acquisition. Thus, educational and true types of bilingualism can be distinguished. Author believes that an amalgam of educational compound and educational coordinate bilingualisms can provide the most harmonious growth of educational bilingualism into true bilingualism in colleges and universities.
