This introductory article opens a thematic issue of the Researcher journal, which is dedicated to historical and ecclesiastical local studies, family-focused local studies, research activity in secondary vocational education (SVE), and student scientific societies. The journal continues to actively support the development of research-based learning in line with the “Think globally—act locally” principle, which naturally emphasizes the theme of local studies. This issue introduces new perspectives in local studies for the journal, focusing on historical and ecclesiastical local studies as
well as family-oriented approaches.
