We report results from a search for the decay B-s(0) -> eta eta using 121.4 fb(-1) of data collected at the Upsilon(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We do not observe any signal and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of 14.3 x 10(-5) at 90% confidence level. This result represents a significant improvement over the previous most stringent limit.

We report results from the first search for the rare penguin-dominated decay mode B-0 -> (KSKS0)-K-0 gamma, which can result from the production of tensor mesons f(1270) and f'(1525) in association with a photon. The search uses the full data sample of 772 x 10(6) BB-bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB ...

We present a measurement of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo favored B0 → D+π- and the Cabibbo suppressed B0 → D+K- decays. We find Br(B0 → D+π-)=(2.48±0.01±0.09±0.04)×10-3 and Br(B0 → D+K−)=(2.03±0.05±0.07±0.03)×10-4 decays, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third uncertainty is due to the D+ → K-π+π+ branching fraction. The ratio of branching fractions of B0→D+K- and B0→D+π- is measured to be RD=[8.19±0.20(stat)±0.23(syst)]×10-2. ...

We present measurements of partial branching fractions of inclusive semileptonic B→Xuℓ+νℓdecays using the full Belle dataset of 711 fb−1 of integrated luminosity at the Υ(4S) resonance and for ℓ=e, μ. Inclusive semileptonic B→Xuℓ+νℓ decays are Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) suppressed and measurements are complicated by the large background from CKM favored B→Xcℓ+νℓ transitions, which have a similar signature. Using machine learning techniques, we reduce this and other backgrounds effectively, ...

Investigations of the existence of pentaquark states containing a single b (anti)quark decaying weakly into four specific final states J/ψK+π−p, J/ψK−π−p, J/ψK−π+p, and J/ψϕ(1020)p are reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1 in 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions acquired with the LHCb detector. Signals are not observed and upper limits are set on the product of the production cross section times branching ...

We present an analysis of the exclusive B+→π+π−ℓ+νℓ decay, where ℓ represents an electron or a muon, with the assumption of charge-conjugation symmetry and lepton universality. The study exploits the full Υ(4S) data sample collected by the Belle detector, corresponding to 711 fb−1 of integrated luminosity. Events are selected by fully reconstructing one B meson in hadronic decay modes, subsequently determining the properties of the other B meson. ...

In this work, we present for the first time the Lyman α intensities measured by Voyager 1/UVS in 2003–2014 (at 90–130 AU from the Sun). During this period Voyager 1 measured the Lyman α emission in the outer heliosphere at an almost fixed direction close to the upwind (i.e.“ toward the interstellar flow). The data show an unexpected behavior in 2003–2009: the ...

Working within four-loop approximation, we conjecture the scheme in which the beta-function retains only two tensor structures up to certain terms containing zeta_3. states when N receivers are separately located. In this report, we propose optical designs that can
perform sequential state discrimination of two coherent states. For this purpose, we consider not
