The article presents the authors’ view on the possible use of cinematography to create a positive and attractive image of a physicist. The images shown in the article can also become a role model for young people who seek risk and extreme activities. In addition to movie characters, the article provides examples and stories about real physicists. Many of them were fond of mountaineering, quite often subjected to serious trials both physical and moral. According to the authors, the plots of the movies and their discussion can serve as a good basis for developing interesting assignments for students of different ages. These assignments can also deal with serious historical and biographical research. All of the above mentioned in the article can serve to form a positive attitude of students to physics.
