HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

The Noëtic Orientations Test (NOT): A Multiscale Russian Modification of the Purpose-in-Life Test

P. 229–240.
Leontiev D., Osin E.

The chapter presents the Noëtic Orientations Test, a multiscale Russian modification of the well-known Purpose in Life test, one of the most popular diagnostic tools elaborated on the basis of logotherapy and existential analysis. However, the Noëtic Orientations Test is not just a Russian adaptation of the Purpose in Life test. Besides the changes in some items and transformation of rating scale, exploratory factor analyses and recent confirmatory factor analyses allowed to transform the uniscale Purpose in Life test into a multiscale test, differentiating the temporal aspects of life meaning. After its first publication in 1992, the Noëtic Orientations Test has been successfully used in thousands of studies providing extensive evidence of its validity and utility
