Big Data и борьба с терроризмом возможности и перспективы
Over the past three years, more than six thousand crimes of a terrorist nature have been committed in the Russian Federation. Many of these crimes have digital traces, according to which these acts can be prevented or revealed. Universal digitalization, the development of the information society, the active use of information technologies by the public and private sectors provide new opportunities for law enforcement agencies. This article discusses the possibilities of introducing Big Data technology to prevent and solve crimes of a terrorist nature, foreign experience in this area, the directions for using big data analytics for these purposes, as well as the problems that may arise in connection with this and possible ways to solve them. The promise of big data is that with advanced analytics, added value can be found in maximizing the use of existing and/or new sets of seemingly unrelated data. Law enforcement agencies actively use publicly available information, open data, information from social networks, online communities, etc., including to prevent terrorism. The use of Big Data technologies is currently accompanied by many problems of a legal, socio-economic, personnel, and technological nature. However, the solution of these problems will allow states to counter the threats of terrorism.
