Organization of the contemporary banking system of the Russian Federation is observed in this article. The author outlines the principles of composing of the banking system and the doctrine positions devoted to the related principles are observed. The main features of separate items of the banking system are also observed, and tendencies of development are outlined. In view of the results of the research the author formulates some doctrine positions and propositions on legislation amending aimed at improvement of banking system regulation.
