The report examines the problems of interactional and mutual perception of two epistemic communities, i.e. university and industrial. The classic problem of mutual claims of “theorists” and “practitioners” is considered in epistemic terms: each of these areas operates with its own, historically established, ideal-typical normative system of knowledge, and these epistemic systems conflict in a number of aspects. The author draws attention to some barriers and manifestations of this kind of conflict, problems of epistemic paternalism and epistemic justice, and formulates an assumption about the prospects for achieving epistemic consensus between communities of university and industrial researchers.
