The introductory article of the “Researcher” journal thematic issue, dedicated to expeditions and research schools, which took place in various Russian Far East regions: Kamchatsky Krai, Primorsky Krai, Zabaikalsky Krai, Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, is given. The following article presents a brief excursion to the history of the expeditionary research of Eastern Siberia, Far East and Arctic, including focusing on the topics, studied in expeditions. The given issue of the journal contains detailed materials about these topics.
